On Thursday June 6 2013, the American Australian Association will honour Andrew Liveris, President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company and Richard (Dick) Warburton AO LVO, Chairman of Westfield Retail Trust, Magellan Flagship Fund, Citigroup Pty Ltd and Manufacturing Australia, at the prestigious 2013 Benefit Dinner at the Sydney Convention Centre.

Over 500 guests will attend the dinner in the Ballroom at the Sydney Convention Centre, including dignitaries, leaders of the Sydney business and philanthropic community, and performers who will salute the extraordinary achievements of Andrew Liveris and Richard (Dick) Warburton AO LVO.

Hosted by television presenter and financial commentator David Koch, the evening will include tributes to the evenings' two honourees led by Prime Minister Julia Gillard and former Prime Minister John Howard OM AC.

Deputy Chairman and CEO of the American Australian Association the Hon. John Olsen AO says, "The AAA is delighted to salute the extraordinary international business achievements of Andrew Liveris and acknowledge Richard Warburton's outstanding contributions to Corporate Australia."

Andrew Liveris is a hugely influential business leader. Not only is he President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at The Dow Chemical Company, he also serves as co-chair of President Obama's Advanced Manufacturing Partnership in the United States. Liveris also sits on a number of boards, including IBM and was recently elected Chair of the United States Business Council, the first Australian and non-American Chair.

Richard (Dick) Warburton AO LVO is currently Chairman of Manufacturing Australia, Magellan Flagship Fund, Citigroup Pty Ltd and Westfield Retail Trust. He is also a Member of the Advisory Council of the Centre of Social Impact. He was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia in 2005 and a Lieutenant in the Royal Victorian Order in 2011. Entertainment on the evening will be provided by Silvie Paladino and the Qantas Choir, alongside members of the Boston Children's Chorus. World renowned French artist Jean-Pierre Blanchard will attend the event to uniquely document the celebration.

The Dinner will also recognise current recipients of the prestigious American Australian Association Education Fund Fellowships. The dinner supports the Association's education fund that awards fellowships fostering intellectual exchange between Australia and the United States in fields of post graduate studies including biology, medicine, engineering and neuroscience. In the eleven years since it launched, the Education Fellows' exchange program has awarded more than $4 million to some 150 Fellows, and has fostered important relationships between Australia and America. Thirteen Education Fund Fellows, past and present recipients, will attend the dinner and four will speak of their research being conducted through their Fellowship under the American Australian Association's Education Fund.

The American Australian Association is a non-profit organisation whose prime purpose is to build and support the alliance between Australia and the United States and is committed to enhancing the economic, cultural, educational and social relationships between the two countries. A key initiative of the Association has been the establishment of the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. Now in its seventh year of operations, the Centre is fully staffed with leading academics from both the US and Australia, and is well on its way to achieving its mission of becoming the pre-eminent institution specialising in US studies outside the US. In addition, this year, the association is proud to have established the United States Asia Centre at the University of Western Australia.

The 2013 benefit dinner is the sixth such event in Australia. Previous American Australian Association Honourees in Australia include Lindsay Fox AC, Jacques Nasser AO, Jeanne Pratt AC, Anthony Pratt & the Pratt Family, Frank Lowy AC, Rupert Murdoch AC and Charles 'Chip' Goodyear.
